Meet Briar
Some dogs spend their entire lives waiting for someone to truly see them. Briar is one of those dogs.
At over 12 years old, Briar came to us from a heartbreaking hoarding situation with more than 135 dogs. For far too many years, she simply existed instead of living the life every dog deserves.
When Briar arrived, it was clear she had been carrying more than emotional scars. She needed emergency surgery for a pyometra, had an umbilical hernia repaired, and had a small mass removed from her eye. She also has only three teeth left. It's impossible not to wonder how long she lived with discomfort before finally getting the care she always deserved.
Despite everything she's endured, Briar has shown us just how resilient the heart of a dog can be.
She isn't the type of dog who will immediately ask for attention, but every day she grows just a little braver. One of our favorite moments is catching her quietly peeking around the corner, watching us with curious eyes. It's as if she's trying to decide if maybe-just maybe-people can be trusted after all.
Those tiny moments mean everything.
Briar is looking for a peaceful home where she can spend her golden years surrounded by kindness, patience, and soft places to rest. She doesn't need grand adventures. She simply deserves the chance to experience the comfort, safety, and unconditional love that she went without for far too long.
We know adopting a senior dog can feel like a big decision. But we also know that senior dogs have a way of changing your heart forever. Briar may not have had the best beginning, but we're determined to help her find the ending she's always deserved.
If you have room in your heart for a sweet little survivor who is finally learning what it means to feel safe, Briar is waiting to meet you.
