Dixi went for a little sleepover with another foster family...and apparently decided to extend her stay.
And it turns out, there was more to Dixi than we knew.Dixi has always been sweet and friendly, but she doesnt necessarily show you her whole personality right away. Give her a little time to feel comfortable and suddenly this silly, playful, affectionate girl appears.

Her foster has been surprised by just how funny she is. She loves to play, has an adorably independent streak, and is equally happy joining in on the fun or doing her own thing. And once she decides youre one of her people? She softens right up and the snuggly side comes out.

But perhaps the best part of Dixis sleepover has been watching her with fellow adoptable dog Felice. No, theyre not bonded. No, they dont need to be adopted together. And with two very different personalities, we werent entirely sure what they would think of each other.

Turns out, theyre kind of great together.They give each other space, take cues from one another, play and hang out, and somehow bring out really lovely qualities in each other. Dixi has also shown us that shes pretty good at reading another dog and navigating different personalities. Felice can have her own ideas about personal space and how things should be done, and Dixi seems perfectly happy to take those cues, give her room when she wants it, and carry on with her day.

That has taught us something important about the home where Dixi could really thrive. She doesn't necessarily need a perfectly easygoing canine companion. If your resident dog has a bit of a bossy streak, likes their space, or has their own particular way of doing things, Dixi may be the kind of respectful, adaptable sidekick who fits right in.

Shes sweet. Shes snuggly. Shes playful. Shes a little bit silly. And now that weve gotten to see even more of the real Dixi, were pretty sure her future family is going to wonder how they ever lived without her.
