Artemis - Mixed Breed Dog for Adoption in Matteson, Illinois

Reason for Foster: Behavior (undersocialized)

Length of Stay: ~4 weeks

Artemis and her littermates were brought to the shelter from an overcrowding situation. They're very undersocialized and would benefit from foster homes that have friendly resident dogs to help boost their confidence and show them the ropes. Fostering scaredy puppies can be very rewarding, but it does require a lot of patience and willingness to take things slow and not overwhelm them!

Email foster@anticruelty.org if you would like to foster Artemis!

*Due to the high volume of animals currently in care, please wait for confirmation from Anti-Cruelty staff before coming to the shelter to pick up a foster animal. Thank you!*

The mixed breed dogs, often referred to as mutts, are a diverse and unique group with a blend of different characteristics from various purebred dog breeds. These dogs come from a mixture of lineages, resulting in a wide range of sizes, coat types, and temperaments. While each mixed breed dog is distinct in its own right, they are known for their resilience, adaptability, and often have fewer health issues compared to purebred dogs due to their genetic diversity. Mixed breed dogs make wonderful companions for families looking for a loyal and one-of-a-kind pet.
