Ruby - Mixed Breed Dog for Adoption in Lansing, Michigan
RUBY
Mixed Breed
🇺🇸
Lansing, Michigan
June 29th
female, large, adult
DESCRIPTION
Meet Ruby! She is a 7-year-old beautiful girl weighing around 75 pounds who is ready to find a loving home to call her own. Ruby came to us when her owner was no longer able to care for her and has been patiently waiting since June 25th, 2026 for her forever home.
Ruby is a very sweet, resilient girl who has a gentle and loving personality. She is fully housetrained and enjoys spending time outdoors, whether it's relaxing in the fresh air or exploring at a calm pace. Ruby can be a bit nervous in new situations and may need some reassurance as she adjusts, but with patience and kindness, her confidence continues to shine through.
Because of her sensitivity, we would like any young children in the home to meet Ruby prior to adoption to ensure a good fit. She has lived with dogs previously and has also done well with other dogs during her time at the shelter, and she may be a great fit for a multi-dog home. Ruby has also lived with cats before and may do well in a home with cats if introduced slowly with a thoughtful and structured separation plan.
Ruby is ready to find a calm, loving home where she can feel safe, supported, and cherished for the wonderful companion she is.
Ruby is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations and preventatives. If you're interested in meeting Ruby or learning more, please reach out to an adoption counselor by phone at (517) 626-6060 or email at adoptions@adoptlansing.org.
ABOUT: MIXED BREED DOG BREED
The mixed breed dogs, often referred to as mutts, are a diverse and unique group with a blend of different characteristics from various purebred dog breeds. These dogs come from a mixture of lineages, resulting in a wide range of sizes, coat types, and temperaments. While each mixed breed dog is distinct in its own right, they are known for their resilience, adaptability, and often have fewer health issues compared to purebred dogs due to their genetic diversity. Mixed breed dogs make wonderful companions for families looking for a loyal and one-of-a-kind pet.
