Barqs is an itty-bitty bundle of everything that'll make you go "awww." As the runt of his litter, he may be the smallest, but he definitely has the biggest personality! This tiny guy has the mightiest little voice and is always happy to chat with you. He'll gladly let you know exactly what he wants, how he's feeling, and when it's time for snuggles.
Believe us, we want to know just as badly as you do what Barqs is mixed with! His mom weighed just over 25 pounds and looked like some kind of Chihuahua mix. Based on his handsome markings and coloring, we're guessing there could be a little Boxer or Black Mouth Cur in there too. Whatever his breed, we expect Barqs to stay on the smaller side, likely topping out around 20-25 pounds.
This resilient little guy has already overcome more than most puppies ever should. After bravely beating parvovirus, Barqs is making up for lost time by discovering all the joys of puppyhood. His favorite toys are crinkly cat toys and balls that roll, and after a good wrestling match, he's always ready to curl up for a cuddle.
Barqs has been living in foster care with our Dog Team Coordinator's family, where he's been exposed to just about everything! He's lived alongside large dogs, cats, and even a parrot. Nothing seems to faze this confident little man, and he does a wonderful job respecting the social cues of other animals.
He's still working on house training, but he's making great progress. Barqs understands using puppy pads, and if he doesn't quite make it outside, he almost always heads to the back door to do his business.
If you're looking for a whole lot of personality packed into one tiny puppy, Barqs is your guy! Submit an application to meet Barqs or one of his equally adorable siblings: Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, or Dr. Pepper. We promise you'll fall in love.
