Meet Frankie...
He has spent the last three years in a city no-kill shelter with no interested adopters. THREE. YEARS. Let that sink in...Three years spent without a family to love him. Three years without someone to cuddle with him on the couch and take him on fun adventures. Three years sitting in a kennel wondering if THIS is the day that someone will take him to his forever home. THREE YEARS.
Frankie was purchased by an elderly woman where his litter, transported from down South, was being sold out of a cardboard box on the streets of Manhattan. When he was around 8 months old, it became clear that he was too energetic for his senior citizen owner and he was then turned into a no-kill shelter in the city.
Frankie is a young, energetic, happy, playful 50 pound "puppy" who needs a home outside of New York City. His ideal home would be one where he would be the only pet, no children under the age of 10, and an owner who can give him a lot of structured exercise. Previous dog ownership experience will be required. Once he has been allowed to get all of his endless puppy energy out thru exercise, Frankie loves to cuddle!
The shelter has been working with Frankie on basic training - he knows how to walk on leash and to sit and stay before going thru doorways calmly. He will need an owner who will continue to work on these skills. Frankie is neutered, housebroken, and UTD on his vaccines and heartwork/flea preventatives.
Anyone who might be looking for a "dog" dog who is a great companion, Frankie is your guy!
