Now imagine this...

You’re out for a walk, and Schmidt is right there with you—taking it all in, nose to the ground, checking out the world at his own pace. Back at home, a squeaky toy comes out, and suddenly it’s game on—running, bouncing, that back-and-forth "tag" game where he looks at you like, "okay, your turn."

He’s got a bit of a mind of his own, the kind of dog who likes to figure things out before jumping in—but once he does, you start to see that playful, engaging side come through.

Schmidt walks fairly well on a leash and enjoys being out and about. He shows interest in other dogs, so we recommend bringing your dog in to meet him to see if it’s a good match. For kids, we’d suggest respectful ones who understand giving a dog space when he needs it.

Schmidt came to us as a stray, so we don’t know much about his past—but we do know he’s here now and ready for a fresh start.
