Meet Persephone!

Persephone is an eight-year-old Pittie who came to us through Animal Control on July 2, 2026. When she arrived, she was incredibly emaciated and understandably scared. It took her a few days to feel safe and come out of her shell, but once she did, we discovered what an absolute baby doll she is!

Persephone has been through more than any dog should have to endure, including what appears to have been significant neglect. She is missing quite a few of her teeth, but she certainly doesn’t let that slow her down! She still has quite the appetite and absolutely loves her treats.

This sweet girl walks beautifully on a leash and is a pleasure to take outside. After she gets a good potty break, one of her favorite things to do is roll around happily in the grass!

Persephone is ready to leave her difficult past behind and spend her golden years surrounded by love, comfort, and kindness. She may have needed a little time to trust us, but once she did, she showed us just how special she truly is.
