A volunteer writes: We tend to think he's more of a Goliath than a David, but nonetheless we don't think he'll have any problem taking a giant since he is one himself. Clocking in at 95 pounds, David is just a big, mushy, ball of love. The police were alerted to David when he was tied up in Brooklyn and left abandoned. I chuckle when I read their intake note stating he's, "FRIENDLY BUT STUBBORN!" when he wouldn't go in the crate and instead wanted to ride free in the back seat of the patrol car. We quickly see what they might have been referring to by "stubborn" when he demands treats the whole way out of he building and back in to keep him motivated to walk. Clearly a sign of his intelligence more than anything! But with a guy of his stature, there's probably more at play than simply being obstinate. He is overweight/obese and on the early side of seniorhood. In any case, we are immediately smitten with this tongue peeking, gentle meatball.
Since arrival, David has been uncomfortable with much handling and therefore an assessment was not conducted on him. For this reason, he is available to foster through a rescue partner. At this time, he has not had a dog greet but during time out with us he was not reactive toward other dogs and seemed to largely ignore them. Primary Color: Brown Weight: 95lbs Age: 8yrs 0mths 4wks
