DESCRIPTION
Lucy is a female dog who presented bright, alert, and responsive (BAR) with concerns for possible head trauma and possible glaucoma. Given her clinical signs, she needs prompt evaluation by a veterinarian, including assessment by a veterinary ophthalmologist, to determine the underlying cause of her condition and appropriate treatment. If glaucoma is confirmed, she may be experiencing significant eye pain and could be at risk for worsening vision and additional complications without timely intervention. This level of specialized veterinary and ophthalmic care exceeds what we can consistently provide in the shelter environment. Despite her condition, Lucy remains resilient and is doing her best while receiving supportive care. Lucy needs a safe, compassionate placement where she can receive prompt veterinary evaluation, including examination by a veterinary ophthalmologist, diagnostic testing, and appropriate treatment and recovery care to address her medical needs and keep her comfortable.
