DESCRIPTION
Bennie is a 2-year-old sweetheart with bright, expressive eyes that show just how smart he is. It’s easy to see he is a very special dog with endless potential. He’s affectionate but also has an independent side, he settles quickly in his kennel and does not have separation anxiety. Bennie was fostered for approximately 2 months. In a home setting, he is calm, sweet, and eager to connect. He enjoys playing with toys, he is funny, and has a playful side to him. And of course, he loves pets and baby talk. He also enjoys being brushed and does well taking a bath outside. He can present as high-energy in his kennel at the shelter, but that behavior does not reflect who he is outside of it. Any time he is able to leave his kennel—whether on day trips, the play yard, or while in foster care—he settled quickly and showed a completely different side of himself. Bennie enjoys going on walks and is working on leash manors. He went on a recent ‘Staycation’ and they reported he was an easy dog that liked to go on jogs with them and rode well in the car. While in foster care, he was potty trained and kennel trained. He learned the commands sit, leave it and he knows shake. He also completed heartworm treatment while in foster care. Bennie has a strong prey drive and should not be adopted to a home with cats or small animals. Bennie is a fun-loving guy looking for his fun-loving family.
ABOUT: MIXED BREED DOG BREED
The mixed breed dogs, often referred to as mutts, are a diverse and unique group with a blend of different characteristics from various purebred dog breeds. These dogs come from a mixture of lineages, resulting in a wide range of sizes, coat types, and temperaments. While each mixed breed dog is distinct in its own right, they are known for their resilience, adaptability, and often have fewer health issues compared to purebred dogs due to their genetic diversity. Mixed breed dogs make wonderful companions for families looking for a loyal and one-of-a-kind pet.
