Introducing Zephyr! This boy is an absolute gem. He is ready to leave his past behind and start a new adventure with his very own family. While he is still learning about indoor life, for probably the first time, he has made great strides. Because the inside world is totally new, little things like hard floors, brooms, mops, and unfamiliar noises are a bit scary for him, but he gets a little braver every day. I do not have stairs in my home so I am unsure of how he does with them. A calm, lower traffic home that can offer patience and a lot of love would suit him best.
While in foster, Zephyr has learned that a soft bed is the best! Toys? Yes, please; but make them sturdy! The joy of destroying a stuffy is not lost on this guy! He loves to chew his Kong ball and his Benebone. The concept of fetch is not quite understood right now. He's more of a run after the ball and then look back at you with a "now what" face. With practice, he will get there.
Currently, the leash is very scary for him. He is working on wearing it while inside. Because he is treat motivated, he is working on step, treat, step, treat. Patience and time with definitely get him there.
Zephyr has done slow introductions with dogs and has done well with calm dogs. He will need time to adjust to his new home before dog interactions can happen.
After a few days of getting comfortable and building trust, his true personality begins to show. Playing in the yard is a favorite. He runs, watches the birds and the cats, lounges in the sun and loves to sit by his people for belly rubs. You can tell he is genuinely happy. For his safety, a fenced yard is best. He will thrive in a home where he can experience love, be shown patience to learn and most importantly, spend a lot of time with his people.
Zephyr is potty trained, kennel trained, has a medium energy level, quiet...all around perfect guy!
Are you the kind of person that likes to see the magic happen? Are you wanting a rewarding experience and a truly grateful friend? This is your guy! If you are patient and willing to put in the effort, Zephyr will make you smile and amaze you every day. He is patiently waiting to impress you! Fill out that application, you will be happy you did!

The best way to show interest in an animal is to submit an adoption application by visiting our website (www.rescuenetworkmn.org).
Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, and bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, heartworm test (dogs over 9 months), FIV/FeLV test (cats - one in the litter), dewormed, and microchip implant (including registration).
Rescue Network is strictly foster based which means all adoptable animals are in a home and there cannot be a meet until an application is submitted and approved. We have no way of knowing the breeds in the animals. All breeds listed are best guess.
