Ronaldo - Mixed Breed Dog for Adoption in Buffalo, Minnesota

Ronaldo is shy, sweet, and, for now, a bit of a velcro dog. He would love to be your shadow and go wherever you go!

Ronaldo is low energy currently, but he is gradually coming out of his shell as he realizes he is safe. He does well with new people, kids, and dogs. Being around dogs really helps him be confident. He is nervous about dogs who bark/growl a lot, but he enjoys running/chasing/wrestling with dogs who are medium energy dogs around his size.

Ronaldo has tackled a lot of things just in his first week in foster care that he was unwilling to do at the beginning due to fear, such as going up and down stairs, going outside alone, car rides and baths. He is food motivated and quickly catching on to the 'sit' command, and we'll start more when he has that mastered!

He will need to eat in his own space as there is some resource guarding during his meal time. He doesn't seem to guard toys and he will patiently wait his turn for a treat when he and his foster siblings are lined up for treats. We are also working on not counter surfing.

He is house-training wonderfully after learning by example of the resident dogs. Now he has no accidents unless left too long in a crate. Speaking of the only thing he truly hates is a crate! He will whine on and off, and it takes him a few minutes to stop his scared soft whine when he comes out. Ronaldo will happily sleep all night long, quietly, and calmly at the foot of your bed. He also will be so grateful if you buy him a muddy mat to sleep on in the kitchen - he loves it!

Ronaldo's ideal home would be with an owner who isnt gone for long periods on a regular basis, has another confident, well-trained resident dog for him to keep learning from, and who lets Ronaldo sleep in/near them at night versus a crate.

Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, and bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, heartworm test (dogs over 9 months), FIV/FeLV test (cats - one in the litter), dewormed, and microchip implant (including registration).

Rescue Network is strictly foster based which means all adoptable animals are in a home and there cannot be a meet until an application is submitted and approved. We have no way of knowing the breeds in the animals. All breeds listed are best guess.
