Corey is a gentle, sensitive soul who needs time, patience, and understanding to feel safe. After spending time in a shelter, he can be easily overwhelmed by new environments and unfamiliar people, but with calm reassurance, he slowly begins to open up. As his confidence grows, his sweet, goofy, and playful personality starts to shine. He loves being close to his people, and watching him come out of his shell is incredibly rewarding.
Corey is wonderful with kids, neutral around cats, and gets along well with other dogs. He walks nicely on a leash without pulling or reacting to people or dogs. He isn't comfortable in a crate or confined spaces and prefers to sleep under his foster mom's bed. He is house trained on a schedule and thrives with routine and predictability.
Corey is likely a livestock guardian mix, so he naturally takes his role of watching over his home and family seriously. He may bark to alert you if something seems off-this is instinct, not aggression-and with structure and reassurance, he will learn what's normal in his environment.
If you're looking for a loyal, gentle companion and are willing to go at his pace, Corey has so much love to give.

The best way to show interest in an animal is to submit an adoption application by visiting our website (www.rescuenetworkmn.org).
Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, and bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, heartworm test (dogs), FIV/FeLV test (cats), dewormed, and microchip implant (including registration).
Rescue Network is strictly foster based which means all adoptable animals are in a home and there cannot be a meet until an application is submitted and approved. We have no way of knowing the breeds in the animals. All breeds listed are best guess.
