GIZMO - Mixed Breed Dog Available for Adoption in Brazil, Indiana

GIZMO, 8 months old at intake, is a mixed breed dog surrendered with another dog on 2/26/26. From the boop of his nose to the tip of his tail, Gizmo's friendly, fun and enthusiastic. His perky ears and fantastic smile lend to his adorableness. Gizmo is raw sugar. Smart, lively and treat motivated, he's attentive to people, but is sometimes distracted by his overwhelming playful self. Gizmo knows sit, but he needs work on greeting with four on the floor. He can't help being so animated! His adoption fee is $150 and helps cover the cost of his neuter, vaccinations, worming, monthly flea and heart worm preventive, microchip and care while at CCHS. Gizmo has lived with other dogs and kids.

At intake, we noted that he favored his left back leg. Our vet determined that the leg is dislocated from the hip due to a previous trauma such as being hit by a car. Dislocations need to be remedied at or near the time of occurrence. Since it wasn't, the joint has filled with scar tissue. This has caused his knee to lock up. If his hip was repaired, the locked knee might resolve either with physical therapy or surgery. One thing is certain, Gizmo is not slowed down at all by his gimpy back leg. He moves and jumps as if he has springs for legs!!
