Meet Bonnie!
Bonnie is an adorable 8-month-old puppy with a fun, spunky personality! She has been living in a home while waiting for a spot at FMAR, where she shared her space with another dog and four cats. She's already experienced life in a home and has done wonderfully adjusting to a family routine.
Bonnie is crate trained and happily sleeps through the night in her crate for up to 10 hours without an accident-just tell her, "Go to bed!" She isn't much of a barker and is generally a quiet girl.
She's also making great progress with house training. Bonnie lets you know when she needs to go outside by heading to the door. Like any young puppy, she'll continue to benefit from a consistent routine as she settles into her new home.
Bonnie is smart and already knows "sit" and "stay." She's eager to learn but can be a little stubborn at times and likes to see if she can get her own way! She does best with kind, consistent boundaries and confident guidance. She also has a funny habit of trying to hump when she's excited, which is something that can be redirected with training and patience.
When it comes to toys, Bonnie is an enthusiastic chewer who can make quick work of bone toys, so she'll appreciate durable chew toys that can keep up with her. She was easy to bathe, and although she was very interested in the family's chickens at first, she quickly settled down with supervision.
Bonnie is a sweet, playful young dog looking for a family who will continue helping her grow into the amazing companion she's already becoming.

If you would like to meet Bonnie, please submit an application for her on our website https://www.friendsofmichigan.org/adoptable-dogs. She is spayed, up to date on all age appropriate vaccines, microchipped, and on monthly flea & tick prevention.

**Please note that the breed listed for each of our dogs is a rough estimate unless DNA results are provided in their Bio. All strays have rough estimates of their age based on the condition of their teeth. Each dog is different, so each adoption is different. Our adoption process might require multiple visits to the shelter before our dogs can go home. Or they may be ready on the first visit. It really depends on the individual dog and the potential adopters. Once we receive your application, the Dog Staff will contact you to discuss meeting our dogs.
