Meet Peter

Peter is a 17 lb, approximately 2-year-old rescue from Puerto Rico looking for his forever home.

One of Peter's most striking features is his beautiful eyes. They almost look painted. They start with a warm hazel color on the outside, fade into a soft cream tone, and then blend into a stunning blue-grey center. And as if he couldn't get any cuter, Peter also has the sweetest little curled tail that perfectly matches his happy, gentle personality.

His story started on the streets, where he was found together with his two siblings. One of them even had two bullets in their body, so it's safe to say Peter has already experienced more hardship in his short life than any dog should.

Despite everything, Peter has the sweetest soul. He arrived in NYC just a few days ago, and he has already shown how loving, affectionate, and grateful he is. He absolutely loves people and always wants to be near you. You can tell he appreciates having a safe place to sleep, regular meals, and not having to live in fear anymore.

Peter is house trained, crate trained, and leash trained. He is dog-, cat-, and kid-friendly, although he may be a little shy at first until he warms up. At home, he is incredibly calm, gentle, and laid-back. When you take him outside for walks, he sometimes starts doing the cutest little prance that will instantly make you smile.

Peter is looking for a loving home where he can finally enjoy the safe and happy life he deserves. His foster mom says he would be a wonderful fit for seniors or anyone looking for a calm, laidback and affectionate companion.

The Chihuahua is a small breed famous for its confidence, loyalty, and big personality, despite its tiny size.
