Penelope is a beautiful 6.5-year-old white Miniature Schnauzer weighing just over 10 pounds with a big personality and lots of love to give. Originally from Texas, Penelope came into rescue after her family made the difficult decision to surrender her following a serious jaw injury. Despite everything shes been through, this resilient little girl hasnt let her past define her and is ready for a fresh start.

Penelope has overcome her jaw injury and is doing great she can happily eat both hard and soft food and is ready to focus on the fun parts of life: love, safety, and being someones cherished companion.

Penelope is still learning that the world can be a safe place. She enjoys knowing where her people are and loves being close to them. As she settles in and builds trust, her confidence continues to grow.

Penelope loves attention and affection and isnt shy about asking for it! She enjoys being near her humans and would thrive with someone who understands that building confidence takes patience, routine, and consistency.

When it comes to other dogs, Penelope prefers ones respectful of personal space. She does best around chill, low-key dogs who wont expect her to constantly play or interact, and she may truly shine as an only dog soaking up all the love and attention. An older, relaxed dog who minds their own business could also be a great fit.

Penelope is still adjusting to her new environments and routines, so giving her time to settle and feel secure will help her thrive. Consistency, patience, and love will go a long way in helping her feel safe and confident.
