Meet Gilbert Grape! This little black dog weighs about 15 pounds, and we think he may be a Schnauzer mix—but Gilbert is keeping his family tree a mystery.

Like his namesake, Gilbert has a heart that belongs to his family. He’s incredibly social, loves people, and wants to be wherever his favorite humans are. If the family is in the kitchen, Gilbert is in the kitchen. If everyone moves to the couch, he’s coming too! He’s also a playful little guy who’s always happy to join in the fun.

Gilbert does well with other dogs, though he can be a little shy when they first meet. Give him a moment to get comfortable, and his friendly personality comes through. His coat will need consistent grooming to keep him looking and feeling his best.
