All approved adopters will begin with a two-week trial and monitoring period to ensure a safe, thoughtful, and long-term match and commitment.

💛 Adoption Fee: $650
Includes spay/neuter surgery, core vaccinations, microchip, health certificate, pre-departure veterinary care, and international transportation to the U.S.

Ponyo is a 2-year-old neutered male Poodle weighing about 5 kg (~11 lbs). He was surrendered by his previous owner and is now ready to find a stable, loving home.

He is healthy and up to date on preventatives (NexGard given 3/15).

🌿 Personality
• Affectionate, friendly, and very people-oriented
• Forms strong bonds with his primary caregiver
• Gentle and excellent with children
• Social and enjoys being around people of all ages
• Playful and interactive

🐶 Social Behavior
• Does well with small dogs and interacts appropriately
• Can coexist peacefully with other dogs
• Has shown little interest in cats
• Has not been tested with large dogs

🚶 Walks & Activity
• Loves walks — gets excited when he sees his leash or harness
• Currently enjoys two 1-hour walks daily
• Initially had mild leash pulling but is improving and learning to walk in sync
• Occasionally gives 1–2 short barks when seeing other dogs

🏠 Home Behavior & Routine
• Prefers outdoor potty (morning and evening walks)
• May use pee pads early morning if needed
• No indoor marking
• Can stay home alone for about 5 hours without destructive behavior

🧠 Separation & Sensitivity
• Mild separation anxiety initially, now improved (no barking when alone)
• In his current environment, he is rarely left alone
• May quietly wait by the door when his primary caregiver leaves
• Some sensitivity to external noises (occasional alert barking)
• A family familiar with poodle traits or willing to learn is a strong plus

🍽 Feeding
• Currently eating Now Grain-Free Small Breed Turkey
• May be slightly picky — prefers softened kibble or added toppings
• Enjoys treats like sweet potato, cheese, fruits (apple, strawberry), and soft jerky

🛁 Grooming & Handling
• Tolerates baths and brushing very well
• Nervous about nail trimming and teeth brushing but shows no aggression
• Crate trained — enters on his own terms

🧸 Play Style
• Loves playing with people and other dogs
• Favorite toy: small soft balls (especially pom-pom style)
• Also enjoys plush toys
