Louie was saved from the shelter after his owner passed away

Meet Louie, a 14 year old poodle with a gentle soul and so much love still left to give. Louie is looking for a special hospice adopter to open their heart and home to him during this chapter of life. He has a large benign growth on his chest that isn't operable due to its location and his age, and he is gradually losing his vision, but Louie continues to enjoy each day in his own sweet way!

Louie is happiest simply being near his people. If his humans head outside without him, hell let them know he wants to join in! He loves spending time in the yard, exploring, and soaking up fresh air. Even with vision loss, he's doing an amazing job learning his surroundings and confidently finding his way around outside. He lets his foster know when he needs to go potty, enjoys short walks, sleeps peacefully in a crate next to his foster brother, and would never turn down a cozy cuddle. He does well with other dogs as long as they respect his space, and pumpkin mixed into his meals is one of his favorite treats! Louie may be a senior, but his heart is full, and he's hoping to find someone to love him exactly as he is for the remainder of his days.

The miniature poodle is a highly intelligent and affectionate dog breed known for its curly hypoallergenic coat and charming personality. Originally bred as water retrievers, these small but sturdy dogs excel in various dog sports and activities. They are adaptable to different living situations, making them ideal companions for both families and individuals.
