Lua is 2 years old, just 13 lbs, and basically the perfect little best friend. She’s great with other dogs, even great with cats, and has the sweetest, most easygoing personality. Her favorite thing? Belly rubs. She’ll roll right over, close her eyes, and fully soak up every second. As long as love and pets are coming her way, Lua is happy.

But this dream girl hasn’t always had the life she deserves.

Lua was dumped on the side of the road while pregnant. She eventually gave birth near a restaurant, where she survived by eating scraps out of the trash while caring for her babies. What makes her story even more heartbreaking is that it was very obvious Lua had once been someone’s dog.

And somehow, after all of that, she is still pure sweetness.

At only 13 lbs, she’s the perfect little size with a calm, chill personality. She doesn’t ask for much—just someone to love, a safe place to land, and, of course, unlimited belly rubs.

Lua is currently in Puerto Rico but will soon be transported to the States and into whichever comes first: a foster home or, even better, her forever home.
