SOMEONE PLEASE COME GET THIS OVERSIZED BABY OUT OF ANIMAL CONTROL!
We went to animal control to meet Comet, and well... let's just say we left a little bit in love.
MEET COMET!
Comet is a BIG boy. And when we say big, we mean BIG. But here's the funny part... we're pretty sure nobody has told Comet that he's not a tiny little lap dog.
Because in Comet's mind, he's approximately 10 pounds, perfectly lap-sized, and absolutely entitled to ALL of your affection.
And honestly? We're not going to be the ones to break the news to him.
This handsome hunk is still just a baby! We believe he's under a year old, which makes his giant teddy bear personality even more endearing.
When we met Comet, he completely stole our hearts. All he wanted was to be close to us. Leaning against our legs, climbing into our laps, covering our faces in kisses... this boy has SO much love to give, and he's not shy about showing it!
A LITTLE MORE ABOUT OUR GENTLE GIANT:
Professional cuddler! Personal space? Never heard of it. If you're sitting, he's probably going to try to sit with you.
Young and full of potential! Comet is likely still under a year old, with so much growing, learning, and living ahead of him!
Smart boy! He already knows a few commands and listens well!
Still learning his manners! We're working on leash manners and keeping all four paws on the floor when he's excited. He's a big, enthusiastic puppy who just needs someone willing to continue teaching him!
Dog friendly! Comet has done well with other dogs, but a meet-and-greet with any resident dogs will be required before he heads home, whether that's for fostering or adoption.
And here's the thing...
Comet is still sitting at animal control.
This giant, affectionate, goofy baby is spending his days in a kennel when he could be learning how to be someone's very best friend.
He should be figuring out which spot on the couch is his favorite. Learning the rules of his new home. Getting belly rubs, going on walks, and discovering all the wonderful things that come with being part of a family.
Instead, he's waiting.
And we would REALLY love to change that!
COMET NEEDS A FOSTER OR ADOPTER!
Rover's Do Over would love to welcome Comet into our rescue, but as a 100% foster-based organization, we need a home lined up before we can bring him into our care.
You don't have to be a professional dog trainer or have the perfect home. Just someone who understands that big puppies are still puppies, that manners take practice, and that a little patience goes a long way.
And if you're looking for a dog who will love you with every ounce of his very large body, we think Comet might be your guy!
Interested in adopting? Apply at www.roversdoover.com/adopt
Interested in fostering? Send us a message! We provide veterinary care, supplies, and support.
And PLEASE SHARE! You never know who might see this handsome face and realize they've got room in their home (and apparently their lap) for one very large baby.
Let's get Comet out of animal control and into the arms of someone who will love him just as much as he's ready to love them.
Because this big boy has a whole lot of life ahead of him, and we can't wait to see where it takes him!
