Nala is a beautiful brown and gold brindle Mastiff who was born July 9, 2024. This big girl weighs about 85 pounds and has a short, smooth coat. She is spayed, fully vetted, microchipped, current on vaccinations, and current on heartworm and flea and tick prevention.
Nala came to Hillcrest Animal Rescue after being dumped by a breeder. She arrived emaciated, heartworm positive, and despondent. This sweet girl seemed to have almost given up. With good food, medical care, and plenty of love, Nala has made an incredible transformation. She is now at a healthy weight, has completed her heartworm treatment, and has become a happy, outgoing girl who is ready for her forever home.
Nala lives with many other dogs and does well with them. She has made several canine friends, although she does not appreciate another dog trying to steal her food. She is not good with cats.
As much as Nala enjoys her dog friends, she is really a people person. She loves attention and gets along wonderfully with adults, children, and seniors. She is affectionate, engaged, and ready to devote herself to her new family. Like a typical Mastiff, Nala also believes that 85 pounds is the perfect size for a cuddle bug.
Nala is house trained and crate trained, walks well on a leash, and has great house manners. She is comfortable being left home alone and is also a good traveler, making her a wonderful companion for someone who wants a dog to join them on adventures.
Nala has come a long way from the frightened and neglected girl who first arrived at Hillcrest. Now she just needs the final piece of her story, a family of her own.
