DESCRIPTION
Jack is a 3 year old, friendly Manchester Terrier mix who enjoys exploring, hanging with his people, can have an air of independence, but bonds closely when he feels safe and relaxed. OTHER PETS: Jack was disinterested in meeting another small dog and showed some signs of stress including a growl when the other dog was too close. [Only Pet (Must Meet First)] OWNER EXPERIENCE: [First Dog] Experience with positive reinforcement or willingness to learn. Jack can be very active and playful and will need supervision in a fenced area to prevent him from exploring on his own as he can be a very high jumper when curious. GROOMING: [Minimal] KIDS: Jack would likely do best with older, respectful kids who know how to give him space. Jack did not show signs of resource guarding while at TJO but would likely not be a good fit for younger children as he can be a bit nervous. He should meet everyone he would be living with prior to adoption. [13+ (Must Meet First)] ACTIVITY LEVEL: Jack has enjoyed sniffing, exploring, and playing with balls and toys and will be an active, playful pup once he fully decompresses in a home. He has become attached to staff members once he feels safe and will likely bond very closely with his family. As an active pup, a combination of regular physical activity combined with plenty of mental enrichment such as games, puzzles, and new tricks will help meet his needs. [Active] VETERINARY CARE:. [Average] LEVEL OF TRAINING NEEDED: Positive reinforcement training will help Jack bond with his new owner and build self-confidence in his new home while learning new skills and fun tricks. Positive reinforcement is a great way to keep his mind engaged and active to fully meet his needs. [Minimal]
