Stormy - Maltese and Poodle Dog for Adoption in Willingboro, New Jersey

Hi everyone! My name is Stormy, and I'm hoping my next stop is my forever home! My story started in a scary place called a shelter in rural South Georgia. I was waiting and hoping someone would choose me when suddenly, things got even more uncertain. Thankfully I'm safe now in my foster home!

A little about me... I'm a 10-month-old, 12-pound fluffy white mix. Everyone thinks I might be a Maltese/Poodle mix — basically a little Malti-Poo! I may grow just a little more, but I'm expected to stay a small guy. I really like other small and medium-sized dogs and have done great with everyone I've met. I'd actually do best in a home without cats since I think they want to play chase. I can be shy when I first meet new people, which is understandable considering all the changes I've been through in my young life. But give me some patience, TLC, and a few tasty treats, and I'm starting to come out of my shell and trust my foster family.

I've been doing really well with my crate! I had a couple of accidents when I first arrived, but I'm learning the routine. I'm still working on my house training, so my forever family will need to be patient and continue helping me learn. I'm not a big barker, I don't destroy my bedding, and I even happily share my crate with one of my foster friends. I do have one tiny confession... I'm a FAST eater! I'm still pretty nervous about that strange thing called a leash, so I'll need some more practice and encouragement. Until I become comfortable walking on a leash, I'll need a securely fenced yard where I can safely potty and explore.

I've been through a lot of changes in my short life, and I'm still learning to trust and feel safe. But underneath my shyness is a sweet little boy who just needs someone willing to give him time, patience, love, and plenty of treats.
