Macey - Labrador Retriever and Hound Dog for Adoption in Stoughton, Wisconsin

Macey hails all the way from Arkansas and is around 3 years old. She is incredibly affectionate and loves nothing more than to be with her human at all times, whether in their lap or by their side. It would be hard to find a more affectionate and sweet girl. She absolutely loves sleeping in her human's bed.

Macey has moderate cerebellar hypoplasia, which is an underdevelopment of the portion of the brain that coordinates movement. This means that Macey is very wobbly when she walks and sometimes falls over. We think this makes her extra special. She may get tired on longer walks because it takes her more effort. Macey can climb stairs but needs some help or she may fall. Cerebellar hypoplasia is not painful and does not get better or worse.

Macey came to the rescue with some resource guarding issues. This stemmed from her past environment in which the animals needed to fight to be fed. Never has she resource guarded with her foster humans, but she will with other dogs and cats. We would not recommend her with cats, but she may do okay with some dogs.

Macey is currently working on potty training. She can chew out of a wire kennel, so a plastic sided kennel is recommended if necessary.

Macey is spayed, vaccinated, tested heartworm negative, and microchipped.
