DESCRIPTION
Coco is a 2-year-old Labrador Retriever mix who arrived at the shelter after being thrown over a fence and abandoned prior to intake. She is a sweet, sensitive girl who is still learning that the world can be a safe and predictable place. At her core, Coco is gentle and affectionate. She enjoys being outside, taking in her surroundings, and spending time with people once she feels comfortable. She can be a little unsure in new situations, but with patience and consistency, her personality begins to shine through. Coco has a quirky, endearing habit of sometimes relaxing with her tongue hanging out the side of her mouth, adding to her charm and gentle nature. In dog interactions, Coco may be a bit forward at first but tends to settle with time and structured introductions. She does best with calm, respectful canine companions and clear guidance during introductions. She will thrive in a calm, patient home that can provide structure, reassurance, and time for her to decompress at her own pace. With the right environment, Coco has all the potential to blossom into a deeply loyal and loving companion.
ABOUT: LABRADOR RETRIEVER DOG BREED
The Labrador Retriever is a popular and versatile dog breed known for its friendly demeanor and high intelligence. These dogs are often used as guide dogs for the visually impaired, search and rescue dogs, and excellent family pets. Labradors are known for their great sense of smell, strong build, and love of water, making them exceptional hunters and swimmers. With their loyal and loving nature, Labradors have rightfully earned their reputation as one of the most beloved dog breeds in the world.
The mixed breed dogs, often referred to as mutts, are a diverse and unique group with a blend of different characteristics from various purebred dog breeds. These dogs come from a mixture of lineages, resulting in a wide range of sizes, coat types, and temperaments. While each mixed breed dog is distinct in its own right, they are known for their resilience, adaptability, and often have fewer health issues compared to purebred dogs due to their genetic diversity. Mixed breed dogs make wonderful companions for families looking for a loyal and one-of-a-kind pet.
