Background
Rocket is a chocolate lab, almost 3 years old, neutered, 65lbs. He seems to be in good health and up to date on vaccines. The family is rehoming him (and his brother) as they are about to have a baby and believe the additional stress will not be healthy for everyone.

What his evaluator says:
We met in a park with a dog park and there were several dogs and people walking around. He was very excited and so didn't pay too much attention to me and was more interested in the other dogs.

After we moved away from the excitement he did come to me and let me pet him, but was a bit wiggly. I threw a rope toy and he ran after it but wasn't so interested. I got out a tennis ball and he was eager to fetch, but lost interest in bringing it back. Had him sit with a treat and he was a bit mouthy taking the treats. He let me touch him all over including his ears and teeth, a little sensitive on the paws. No guarding of food or toys. I put a bowl of kibble down and he eagerly ate most of it but I was able to pull it away with no problem. He did sit and wait the 2nd time I put it down. I had him meet my dog Riley and he was lunging to meet her, but more out of excitement than any aggression.

He did jump up on me a few times which the owner says he will do if he's really excited. Rocket was pulling on leash when we walked especially since there was so much going on which he's not used to. He has responded well to a gentle leader but as usual tries to take it off

Good with cats and small and large dogs

He's lived in the city in small apartments with no yards, but now is in a home with a yard. The family can leave him in the house without a problem and he hasn't chewed on things or got into trouble. He is house-trained.
