Meet Maxwell

Maxwell and his siblings had all been adopted and headed off to their new homes, but after an unfortunate accident left Max needing to have one of his back legs amputated, he was returned to the rescue. Now he's looking for his forever family all over again — and whoever gets this boy is going to be incredibly lucky.

Max is one seriously special little guy. He's half Labrador, half German Shepherd, with that classic happy, friendly Lab personality and all the smarts of a GSD. He loves people, loves to play, and wants to be part of whatever is going on.

Max recently officially became a tripod. Apparently, no one bothered to tell him that having three legs was supposed to slow him down. He runs, plays, tackles stairs, and keeps up with life just like any other puppy. He has adjusted incredibly well and doesn't seem particularly concerned about being one leg short.

Max loves kids and has a wonderfully soft mouth. He's already crate trained and about 90% potty trained — pretty impressive for a puppy! He's bright, affectionate, playful, and has all the makings of an amazing family dog.

Max has already been through a lot in his short life, but he hasn't let any of it change his happy, playful spirit. He's ready to put the hard part behind him and get on with the important stuff: playing, exploring, cuddling, and growing up with a family of his own.
