I'm a petite, quirky girl with a big personality and plenty of pizzazz. I have a silly side that loves to play, a peaceful side that loves to relax, and a sensitive heart that really wants to find my person.

My birthday is just around the corner, and there's only one thing on my wish list: a family of my very own to celebrate with. Could that be you?

One of my best qualities is that I’m actually a pretty easy girl around the house. My house manners are superb, I don't get into things, and I’m perfectly happy to settle down while you work from home or head out to do your human things. Give me a consistent routine, a comfy place of my own and a little exercise, and I’m content to hang out until it’s time for our next adventure.

And speaking of adventures... I'm a pretty fun girl to have along!

I love exploring trails and taking peaceful neighbourhood walks where I can sniff, look around and take everything in. Crisp mornings and quiet evenings are my favourite. Car rides? Shotgun, please! Swimming? I was born ready! A securely fenced yard where I can zoom, play and enjoy some freedom? That's my happy place.

After a good morning adventure, my low-key side takes over. I make a wonderful work-from-home buddy and am quite happy to snooze nearby while you get things done. When my silly side comes out, you'll see me tossing a ball or toy into the air, zooming around my yard and generally entertaining myself. Then I’m perfectly content to come inside, settle into my quiet spot and work on a stuffed Kong.

Now, I wouldn't be Mabel without a few quirks.

I have a strong instinct to chase critters, so a securely fenced yard is a must. I’m also very selective about my social circle. I’m a "people dog" who prefers to have my humans all to myself, so I need to be the only pet in the home.

My leash skills are good in calm, low-distraction environments, which is where I feel most comfortable. Seeing other dogs or animals can be harder for me, and I need continued support learning how to navigate those situations. The good news? I’m not starting from scratch. Lab Rescue and my trainer have already put thoughtful tools and a training plan in place, and my trainer is prepared to help my new family continue that work.

What Mabel needs most isn't someone looking for a perfect dog. She needs someone who will appreciate the dog she is, understand her quirks and give her the time and patience to build confidence and trust.

Once I know you're my person, you'll have a funny, affectionate, adventurous and incredibly loyal little companion by your side. There is something pretty special about earning the trust of a sensitive dog and I promise, I have a whole lot of personality waiting to come out with the right person.

My ideal home is a quiet, mature household with a securely fenced yard, no other pets and few visitors. I’m looking for experienced dog people who have the time, patience and physical ability to continue my training and give me the structure I need. Lab Rescue and my trainer will be there to support my family and help set us up for success.

I don't need a busy social life or a house full of people. I’m looking for a quieter life where my world can be small, predictable and filled with the people I trust.

Maybe that sounds a little different from what you imagined when you started looking for a dog.

But maybe you're exactly the person who understands that different can be pretty wonderful.
