A Handsome Gentleman With a Heart of Gold

Meet Beau, a handsome 5 1/2 year old, 65 lb. Fox Red Labrador Retriever with a wonderfully calm and friendly disposition. His ideal weight is around 70–75 pounds, and he is neutered, fully vaccinated, healthy, and heartworm negative. Beau loves everyone he meets and is simply a joy to have around.

Beau is house-trained and has excellent house manners. He leaves the household treasures alone, doesn't counter surf, and sleeps quietly in the bedroom at night. When it comes to being a gentleman around the house, Beau has already earned his bow tie.

He's also a wonderful walking companion. Beau is excellent on a leash and enjoys two long walks each day. Bicycles, joggers, lawn mowers, other dogs, and even thunder don't bother him. He knows “sit,” “down,” and “come,” and has fantastic recall. Beau simply prefers to stay close to his people — wherever they are is where he wants to be.

And if his people happen to be going somewhere fun? Even better! Beau loves an outing and has already proven himself to be a wonderful companion outside the home. He's visited businesses, attended a festival, joined family gatherings, and even enjoyed a restaurant outing. He's also a very well-behaved passenger in the car. A dog who enjoys being included in his family's adventures? Beau is your guy.

Beau is great with people of all ages, including children, and would love a home where someone is around much of the time. He's also great with other dogs and enjoys playing with balls and soft toys, happily sharing them with his foster brother. He's learning to take treats gently and readily allows his people to take food, bones, toys, and other treasures from his mouth. Beau has little prey drive and is currently untested with cats.

This handsome boy is also wonderfully cooperative when it comes to grooming and care. He allows brushing, bathing, ear cleaning, and even nail trims with a Dremel. Clearly, Beau understands that sometimes looking this good requires a little maintenance.

When the day's adventures are over, Beau is perfectly content to relax beside his favorite people. He's playful when it's time to play and happy to simply keep you company when things are quiet. He doesn't need constant entertainment — he just wants to be included in the life of the people he loves.

Beau is one special Labrador. He's got the good looks, the good manners, and the big heart to match. Whether he's accompanying you on an adventure or settling in at your side at the end of the day, Beau is ready to be your loyal companion through it all.

And really, with a name like Beau, how could he be anything less than beau-tiful?
