Morita – Sweet, Calm, and Ready for Her Forever Home
Morita is a gentle and loving girl who has blossomed beautifully thanks to the dedicated care she received at the Dog Sanctuary Casa de Lugo in Colima, Mexico. With patience, love, and the support of a professional trainer, Morita has transformed into an incredibly smart, happy, calm, and affectionate dog.
She has a wonderful temperament and truly enjoys being around people. Morita loves human companionship and will happily spend time by your side, soaking up affection and sharing quiet moments together.
Morita is also very social. She enjoys playing with other dogs and has even shown that she can get along well with cats, making her a great fit for a multi-pet household.
After all the care and dedication that helped her blossom, Morita is now ready for the next chapter of her life — a forever home where she will be loved, cherished, and part of a family. In return, she will bring sweetness, loyalty, and calm companionship to the lucky people who welcome her into their hearts.
Morita's Ideal Home
Morita would thrive in a loving and calm home where she can continue enjoying the stability and care that helped her blossom. She would do well with a person or family who appreciates a gentle, affectionate companion and enjoys spending quality time with their dog.
Because Morita is very social, she could happily live with other friendly dogs and has also shown she can get along with cats. She enjoys companionship, playtime, and being around her people, so a home where she is included as part of the family would be perfect for her.
Morita's calm and sweet nature makes her a wonderful match for a home that offers patience, love, and a peaceful environment, while still giving her opportunities to play, interact, and continue building her confidence.
In return, Morita will bring loyalty, sweetness, and gentle companionship to the lucky family who gives her the forever home she deserves.
Morita's Rescue Story
Morita was rescued along with her little sister near Cerro del Tesoro in Mexico. They were only about two months old when they were found abandoned during a heavy rainstorm. The tiny sisters were completely defenseless and so terrified that they wouldn't even move.
The rescuer's dog led her to the puppies while they were out on a walk. They were soaking wet, frightened, and alone. It was unclear iif they had fallen into the small pit where they were found or if someone had left them there, but it was clear they would not survive in that place, especially with the rain pouring down. There was a real risk they could drown or die from exposure, so the king person who found them, brought them to safety.
Because of the trauma they had likely experienced—and possibly the mistreatment their mother may have suffered—Morita grew up very fearful and unable to trust people. It took a long time, patience, and dedication to help her heal physically, mentally, and emotionally.
Thanks to the incredible support of the Casa de Lugo Sanctuary in Colima City, the guidance of a professional trainer, and the teamwork and commitment of the rescuers at Misiones Caninas, Morita slowly began to blossom. With love, consistency, and care, she transformed into the smart, calm, sweet, and happy girl she is today.
Morita's journey is a beautiful example of how compassion and teamwork can truly change a life. Now she is ready for the final chapter of her story: finding the loving forever home she has waited so patiently for.
Morita is waiting in Mexico until a family is committed to taking her on a 10-day trial. If you are interested, apply at www.northwestwagrescue.org her adoption fee is $600
