Willow Rose Water - Labrador Retriever and Mixed Breed Dog for Adoption in Friendswood, Texas

Meet Willow Rose Water

2 years old Black Lab mix Spayed female

Willow is a gentle soul who is still learning that the world can be a safe place. She's shy, and she takes her time with new people and new places. But once she feels secure, her sweetness shines through.

Willow has been through a lot. She lost a puppy, and she took the loss hard. Since then, she's been healing at her own pace, with the help of her foster family.

In her foster home, Willow is a loving companion who likes being close to her people. She's also been opening up to her foster siblings more and more each day. Every wagging tail and playful moment shows how much love she has to give.

Willow's ideal home:

Patient adopters who will let her set the pace
A calm, quiet household, ideally without a lot of running around or traffic
Older children or adults are recommended, since lots of kid energy can overwhelm her
Calm, easygoing dogs or no other pets would be ideal
A predictable routine is suggested to help her build confidence
Gentle encouragement, with no pressure

Slow introductions are highly recommended. Willow does best when she has time to get to know new people, new dogs, and new spaces, and rushing her could set her back. We suggest adopters be ready to go at her speed.

Willow doesn't need someone to fix her. She needs someone who will wait for her, celebrate her small victories, and give her the time and safety to bloom. Could that be you?

At our 2 acre Texas based property, we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group training and socialization play groups helping them stay confident, well rounded, and adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers are dedicated to each dog’s growth and we enjoy seeing their progress!

We go above and beyond to ensure every animal receives exceptional care. Veterinarians consistently praise our medical standards. From routine care to advanced treatments, each dog receives personalized attention. Hard costs for a healthy dog range from $804-$920; heartworm-positive dogs or those needing specialized care can exceed $2,000+. Adoption fees help cover a portion of these expenses, but without government funding, we rely on fundraising to bridge the gap—ranging from $100–$1,000+ per dog.

Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.

The Labrador Retriever is a popular and versatile dog breed known for its friendly demeanor and high intelligence. These dogs are often used as guide dogs for the visually impaired, search and rescue dogs, and excellent family pets. Labradors are known for their great sense of smell, strong build, and love of water, making them exceptional hunters and swimmers. With their loyal and loving nature, Labradors have rightfully earned their reputation as one of the most beloved dog breeds in the world.

The mixed breed dogs, often referred to as mutts, are a diverse and unique group with a blend of different characteristics from various purebred dog breeds. These dogs come from a mixture of lineages, resulting in a wide range of sizes, coat types, and temperaments. While each mixed breed dog is distinct in its own right, they are known for their resilience, adaptability, and often have fewer health issues compared to purebred dogs due to their genetic diversity. Mixed breed dogs make wonderful companions for families looking for a loyal and one-of-a-kind pet.
