Meet Perry!

Perry’s journey hasn’t been an easy one. He was rescued from a rural pound where he arrived as a 3-month-old puppy and sadly he lived in an outdoor pen for several months until he was rescued. Sadly, he wasn’t saved until he was over a year old—and heartworm positive. The good news? Perry has successfully completed heartworm treatment and is now healthy and ready for his forever home.

Because he spent so much of his early life without a home, everything was new and scary when he first arrived. Simply walking down the block was a huge challenge for him. With patience and love, Perry has made wonderful progress and continues to gain confidence every day. He now walks well on a leash, though he may pull at times and would benefit from continued leash training.

Perry is a sweet, gentle soul who loves people and does great with other dogs and kids. He would thrive in a home where someone is around more often than not—someone who can help him continue learning what it means to live in a home and feel safe.
He is crate trained and currently working on house training. With patience, consistency, and love, Perry will absolutely flourish. He’s looking for a kind, understanding family who will show him that the world isn’t so scary after all—and give him the forever home he’s always deserved.
