BLONDIE - Labrador Retriever Dog for Adoption in Broomfield, Colorado

I can't say enough about Blondie but whoever adopts her is getting a very special dog. First of all, she is very loving and loves being near her people. She snuggles and leans into you as if she wants to be touched. Belly rubs are always welcome. She is house broken but needs work on using a dog door. If the flaps are taped up, she will use it. If the flaps are down, she doesn't push through. There are still a lot of puppy in her. She loves being outside and having another dog to play with. She is very friendly with other dogs. She is just starting to play with toys. At first she was hesitant about that but now will pick one out and play. She also bears some watching as she may run away with a shoe if you're not paying attention. She does need more leash training. She loves walks but is all over the place. Blondie hasn't been kenneled much since I'm retired and home most of the time. The one time I kenneled her, she was hesitant to go in but did fine once there. She has obviously been on furniture in her previous home so she will join you on the couch and bed. As I said, she is a snuggler. Blondie is a quick learner. We are working on, no, off, and come and she is picking them up well. I do think she has some visual impairment in her left eye. It is recessed and smaller than the right. She may have the recessive "merle" gene but it doesn't seem to inhibit her at all. Blondie is a wonderful dog and will make a great addition to any family, especially one with another dog and/or children to play with. Come meet her and see for yourself. She won't last long on the adoption list!
