Romeo is 7 year old, 88lb boy. He's housetrained, crate trained and leash trained. He was returned to us 5 years after his adoption because the adopter had a 1 year old baby and sometimes he wanted to play with her and sometimes he growled at her to get away. Therefore, the adopter very sadly had to return him to us because he had another baby on the way as well. That being said, the adopter had him for 5 years and he was around other kids who were 7 years old and up and Romeo didn't have any problems with them. Romeo gets along with the 3 other senior dogs in his foster home .
Romeo can be left in the house alone without bothering anything, he doesn't really like the crate anyway and will rub his nose on the crate door. Romeo really loved his Dad and his Dad really loved him, so he's very affectionate towards men, but towards women too. We sent Romeo to our professional trainer for a two week bootcamp where he learned "place" and loose leash walking, he even corrected very easily when he saw geese which are a big temptation for labs! He did well with the other dogs at the bootcamp, even a puppy who he played with! But he much preferred the female dogs over the male dogs. Also, since he's been to bootcamp; the trainer is happy to go over all of the commands she's used and all of the things he's learned with the new owner as well as being available for other questions! Romeo is very much a companion dog and wants to go where you go!
