Meet little Miss Midna. This adorable goofy girl is around 2 years old and appears to be a black lab mix, and honestly… she is SO lab-coded it hurts. The happy tail. The goofy zoomies. The toy obsession. The giant “OMG HI I LOVE YOU” energy. She truly wakes up every day excited to simply exist.
Midna is the kind of dog who walks into a room like it’s the best day of her life. She is bouncy, silly, affectionate, and full of personality in the most lovable way possible. During her assessment, she spent most of her time wandering around looking for love, attention, and probably somebody willing to tell her she’s the prettiest girl in the universe. Spoiler alert: she absolutely is.
Midna is also EXTREMELY passionate about booty scratches. In fact, she has a signature move for them. The second you start scratching her butt, her entire back end slowly powers down like a little fuzzy elevator and she immediately drops into the funniest little squat because apparently standing is simply too overwhelming during premium booty scratch time. And if you hit just the right spot on her back? Ohhhh, the kicky legs come out. Full tiny dramatic happy kicks like her body physically cannot contain the joy. It is one of the cutest things ever and honestly feels like a reward system she personally created for humans who scratch correctly.
Her foster says one of their FAVORITE things about her is how she carries toys around everywhere like prized possessions. She especially loves squeaky toys and will happily chomp-chomp-squeak-squeak her way through the house carrying them around like tiny trophies. It’s basically her full-time hobby. If you’ve ever wanted your own personal goofy little emotional support mascot carrying stuffed animals around 24/7, Midna is your girl.

And when she gets excited? Oh, the zoomies arrive. This girl gets the cutest happy little bursts of energy and bounces around with pure joy before eventually dramatically flopping onto her side with her tongue hanging out on the floor like she just completed the world’s hardest marathon. It is impossible not to laugh watching her.
Midna is also an absolutely massive Velcro baby. She LOVES her people. Like… deeply, dramatically, wholeheartedly loves her people. She wants to be involved in whatever you’re doing. Cooking dinner? She’s supervising. Folding laundry? She’s helping emotionally. Watching TV? Perfect, she’ll be nearby accepting pets and staring lovingly into your soul. She is happiest when she gets to be included in everyday life with her humans.
She met tons of people during her assessment and was loving and confident with everyone. She happily soaked up affection, rolled over for belly rubs, and bounced around the room spreading joy like a furry little confetti cannon. She can get a little jumpy when she’s excited because she just gets SO happy to see people, which honestly feels very “overenthusiastic Disney sidekick” of her.
With other dogs, Midna did really well overall and lives with multiple dogs in her foster home. Her vibe with dogs is very sweet, social, and respectful. She mostly preferred hanging around the humans and collecting affection, but she was very tolerant and polite with the dogs she met. Pushy playful dogs didn’t really bother her too much, and she handled social interactions nicely while keeping her soft, goofy energy.
Her perfect dog friends would probably be dogs who match her gentle, happy-go-lucky personality rather than super bossy or over-the-top dominant dogs. When one very confident female dog came into the group, Midna got a little shy and removed herself from the situation instead of causing drama because she is truly just a lover girl, not a fighter. She also gives very fair “okay that’s enough please” corrections when other dogs annoy her too much, which honestly is queen behavior.
Midna would absolutely love a home with a nice yard where she can zoom around, carry her toys proudly, and bounce her happy little lab self all over the place. Apartment life probably isn’t ideal for her because she’s an active girl who likes space to play and occasionally likes to “chat” about important neighborhood business.
As for kiddos, she hasn’t officially been around children yet, but we can absolutely kid-test her for interested adopters! Because she’s such a playful, bouncy girl who sometimes jumps up when excited, older kiddos would probably be the best fit, so nobody accidentally gets knocked over by an enthusiastic Midna greeting committee. Cats are a definite no for this silly girl. She’s just a little too interested in them and would do best in a kitty-free home.
Honestly, Midna feels like the kind of dog who turns an ordinary Tuesday into something fun. She’s goofy, affectionate, toy-obsessed, full of happy energy, and so incredibly loving. She wants adventures, squeaky toys, a yard to zoom in, and humans who will adore her as much as she adores them.
And trust me… this girl LOVES with her whole heart. 💛
