Due to unforeseen circumstances, Luna has found herself in need of a new parent or parents to give her the loving home she deserves. Raised by a single woman, she has developed a wonderful personality that shines through even in these early days with us. We are still getting to know her better and will continue updating her profile as we learn more about her unique quirks and preferences, but so far she is settling in just fine and adjusting beautifully to her temporary surroundings.

Luna gets along well with other dogs and would thrive in a home where she has canine companionship, though she is not particularly fond of cats and would do best in a cat-free environment. She thoroughly enjoys her toys and loves nothing more than settling down to chew on them for extended periods, yet she is respectful of household items and will not chew on anything that is not meant for her. A true cuddler at heart, she is happiest when she can curl up beside her people and become their devoted couch buddy for the evening.

She is already housebroken and crate-trained, making the transition into a new home as smooth as possible. When Luna has a fresh haircut she clearly shows her Labrador side, with a neat and classic look, but when her coat is allowed to grow longer she begins to favor the taller, shaggier appearance of her Irish Wolfhound ancestry. Before she is ready for adoption she will receive an ovary-sparing hysterectomy to ensure she remains healthy while preserving as many of her natural instincts as possible.
