Eddie - Jack Russell Terrier and Chihuahua Dog for Adoption in Manhattan, Kansas

Meet Eddie, formerly Toad!

Eddie, formerly known as Toad from Princess Peach’s Super Mario litter, was born August 10, 2026, and this little guy is already proving that big personalities can come in small packages! His mama is a Chihuahua/Jack Russell Terrier mix, and dad is unknown. Based on his growth so far, we’re estimating Eddie will be around 20 pounds full grown, although with an unknown dad, adult size is never a guarantee.

Eddie is a leader of the pack. He’s silly, confident, outgoing, and always ready for his next adventure. He loves playing with his foster siblings—including a Great Pyrenees and a Great Dane—so being one of the little guys certainly doesn’t intimidate him!

Underneath all that confidence, though, he is a total cuddle bug. Every morning, Eddie loves curling up on his foster mom’s lap while she enjoys her coffee before work.

At only 7 weeks old, Eddie figured out how to use the doggie door all by himself! He has no fear of heading outside to explore, although given the choice, he’d still prefer to spend about 95% of his day inside with his people.

Eddie will be ready to head to his forever home on October 20th. This funny, outgoing little guy is the perfect mix of adventure buddy, playmate, and lap dog.

They come in a variety of coat colors and patterns, with both long and short coats, making them a diverse and adorable addition to any family.

The Jack Russell Terrier is a lively and intelligent small breed known for its boundless energy and strong hunting instincts. With a distinctive white coat and often sporting tan or black markings, these dogs are full of personality and require regular exercise and mental stimulation to thrive. Jack Russell Terriers are fiercely loyal and make excellent companions for active owners willing to provide the mental and physical challenges this energetic breed needs to stay happy and healthy.
