Candy is a 1-year-old Beagle/Jack Russell mix weighing around 30 pounds. She is spayed, up to date on her vaccines, and recently came back to the shelter after a brief stay with a wonderful foster home. While there she learned to ring a bell to go outside to potty. Pretty smart!
Candy is a very shy girl who can be overwhelmed by new people and unfamiliar situations. The shelter environment is stressful for her, and she was able to make great progress in foster care. Knowing that, she isn't looking for someone to rush her—she's looking for someone who will let her settle in at her own pace and discover that she's finally home.
Once Candy feels comfortable, she blossoms into an incredibly sweet companion. She loves to play, enjoys cuddling up with her favorite person, and has a gentle, loving personality that makes all the waiting worthwhile. Watching her confidence grow is one of the most rewarding things about getting to know her.
Candy also gets along well with other dogs, making her a wonderful candidate for a home with a friendly canine companion.
If you have a patient heart and understand that the best relationships take time to build, Candy is ready to meet you. She may not be the first dog to greet you at the door, but she just might become the one who never wants to leave your side.
