Bella - Jack Russell Terrier and Whippet Dog for Adoption in Fredericksburg, Virginia

Bella is a sweet 6 year old 30-pound Jack Russell Whippet mix with a wonderful personality. She tends to have two speeds: either she’s relaxing and sleeping or she’s up, active, and ready to go! She loves getting outside for walks and especially enjoys taking her time to stop and investigate all the interesting smells along the way. She gets very excited when she sees the leash and often does pirouettes when getting ready for a walk!
She loves people and enjoys meeting new friends. She is great with adults and gentle with children. She can get excited when greeting people and will jump up and put her front paws on them, so we are working on this with her. She is very sweet and loves attention, especially a good belly rub! While she enjoys being around people and receiving affection, she is also perfectly content having her own space.
She is not crate trained, but she is completely house trained. She is fine with cats and generally does well with most other dogs when off leash. She can, however, be protective around food and treats so it would be best to feed her by herself if there’s other pets in the home.
Overall, she is a sweet, social, and independent girl who loves people, lots of walks, car rides, and exploring her surroundings. Won’t you give her a chance?
