Hammer - Jack Russell Terrier Dog for Adoption in Colorado Springs, Colorado

Hammer is a 20ish pound, fully grown terrier mix at just over a year old.

He needs a quiet and patient home, that understands that it might take several days for him to truly start feeling safe in his new environment. He has become quite the cuddle bug, and it's so rewarding when he goes belly up for chest scratchies. He is just a lil lover boy at heart.

Hammer still gets startled by unfamiliar people and sudden movements. But all he needs is for you let him know he's safe and to be given a calm space as he figures this new world out. Because of this, a child free home, or one with older respectful teens would be best.

Additionally, he has lived his entire life with another dog, and will need a confident fur sibling to help him through this transition. His playful side is slowly but surely coming out, and even got his first case of the zoomies during his second week in foster.

Hammer is fully potty trained and sleeps through the night in his kennel, but he would much prefer a spot next to you. Prefers females in the home. Men make him nervous and scared.
