Nico is a well-mannered gentleman with his quiet, shy and reserved personality. An experienced owner of IGs or retired racers who can be patient with Nico would be ideal since he is slow to warm up to new people, noises and surroundings. But once he is secure in his person, he's all about the attention and cuddles! He will put his head on your knee or under your hand to be pet.

This 4 1/2 yr old boy needs a calm home as the 2nd or only pet where he can have the majority of the attention. He does well with other IGs, small quiet dogs, or a cat. Nico loves to be outside, whether sunning himself in the yard or going for long walks. He is excellent on a leash and keeps your pace in a perfect "heel." He also enjoys the dog park but prefers to play with Italian greyhounds over the other little dogs.

He came to the rescue overweight and has lost almost 2 lbs. You will need to keep a close eye on Nico's portion sizes and treats to maintain his new healthy weight. You will also need to brush his teeth daily since he has some slight enamel damage on his canines.
