Meet Lala!

When Lala first arrived with us, we were told she was a fearful girl, and it didn't take long for us to see why. She was unsure of her new surroundings, wary of new people, and needed some time to figure out who she could trust.

With a little patience, a gentle approach, and plenty of time to settle in, Lala slowly started letting her personality show. And once she realized she could trust us, we quickly discovered that there is a very goofy, spunky, and lovable girl underneath that initial nervousness.

One of our favourite moments was when Lala finally allowed us to give her some pets. She slowly leaned into our chest for affection, and before long, that cautious little lean turned into her completely melting into our laps for belly rubs. That was when we knew she was starting to feel safe.

Since then, Lala has continued to build her confidence. She is incredibly wiggly when someone she knows comes around, often doing her little happy dance while running and jumping to say hello. She has plenty of spunk on her walks too, walking with purpose and excitement. She still has some leash manners to work on, but we're just happy to see her enjoying herself and gaining confidence.

Lala isn't quite sure what to do with toys yet, but she absolutely loves being around her people. She'll often check in during walks or simply hang around nearby, making sure she's part of whatever is happening.

She has shown some interest in other dogs, and we'll continue getting to know her social preferences as she settles in. Since we have limited information about her background, we're also unsure what she'll be like living in a home, so her future family should be prepared to patiently help her learn those house manners.

Lala is still nervous with new people, especially if introductions happen too quickly, and fast movements can startle her. She'll do best with people who are comfortable taking things slowly, giving her space when she needs it, and allowing her confidence to grow at her own pace.

But if you give Lala the time to trust you, you get to see a pretty wonderful side of her.

Originally bred for sledding and endurance in cold climates, huskies are intelligent and independent, often displaying a strong prey drive. Proper training and regular exercise are crucial to keep these playful and social animals happy and well adjusted.

The shepherd dog breed encompasses a versatile group known for their intelligence, loyalty, and strong work ethic. With a heritage deeply rooted in herding and protecting livestock, shepherds excel at various tasks ranging from obedience and agility competitions to search and rescue missions. Their protective nature makes them excellent family pets, offering unwavering devotion and a natural instinct to watch over and care for their loved ones. In addition to their remarkable abilities, shepherds are often characterized by their distinctive appearance, including a sturdy build, alert expression, and a signature double coat that provides insulation and protection in various climates.
