You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.ARISAIG hails from Fort Severn, a Northern community and came south with her 5 siblings, Yamaska, Kokanee, Algonquin, Banff & Makwa (they’re known as the Provincial Parks Litter) and she came south to find her forever home. She’s had *1 set of puppy vaccines, a microchip, “Interceptor Plus” dewormer and has been deemed a healthy girl by her Vet. We actually have a video showing both parents and mum looks like a medium sized Collie/Old English Sheepdog and her dad possibly a large sized black Lab/Border Collie/Shepherd. We do also see Newfoundlander breed in the litter so we do expect her to be a large breed dog. She comes from a community with many stray dogs so she no doubt has many different breeds in her that are not as notable as well. She’s a placid, laid back little fluff ball who loves her humans almost as much as she loves taking naps. Although she’s gentle and quiet on the whole she does have a spicy side to her where she’ll run around doing zoomies and when she crashes though she’ll snuggle in your lap and have a nap. She’s well socialized with people and will excitedly run up to greet them with a wagging tail. She loves her snuggles and will happily curl up in your lap to get lots of them.
ARISAIG is a happy-go-lucky, playful puppy who’s full of curiosity and is just learning what squeaky toys are all about and she’s always startled when one of her favourites actually squeaks at her. With her lovely personality and good nature she’s ready to find her forever home where she can continue to thrive and grow.
ARISAIG has just started her crate training and she’s picking up on it very quickly as she’s one smart little lady. She’s been using owe pads in the hon but she’s now getting used to doing her business outside and is gradually catching on to being housetrained. She’s not going out for walks just yet seeing as she’s not vaccinated enough but she is wearing a collar and harness while on a leash so she can be walked around the yard. Due to teething, she’s at a chewing stage and needs lots of chewy toys to satisfy that urge not to chew on anything that she shouldn’t. She really loves to chew on a Nyla bone to keep those little teeth busy too. She’s starting to learn a couple of basic commands already such as “sit” for her meals and take treats “gentle.”
ARISAIG would love an active family who loves the outdoors, going on hikes, walks and will take her on adventures with them. She travels well in a vehicle and will just rest in her crate and quietly enjoy being driven around. She’s been very friendly with the few dogs she’s met so far so should do well with one in her new home providing that is, they don’t mind puppy antics. She can be an only dog as long as she’s not left alone for long periods at a time. She has met a cat and was curious about him but he wasn’t a fan of having a new playmate in his home.l so there hadn’t been a lit if interaction between them. Seeing as she’s just a puppy and with a slow, monitored introduction she should do well with a cat in her new home. She requires a fenced-in yard so she can run around and play safely so she wouldn’t suit being in an apartment. Children should be aged 6yrs and up plus be gentle, loving and caring towards animals.
ARISAIG, like all puppies is a cute, playful and fun puppy but she’ll require a lot of time, patience and dedication to training. We need her adopter to commit to signing her up for puppy training/obedience classes so she can be the most well behaved puppy possible. Her spay is included in her adoption fee and her potential adopter must be in agreement to have her spay performed by the time she’s 6 months of age. It will either be at the Rescue’s vet’s office or be at the Barrie SPCA. You do have the option to use your own vet and we’ll reimburse you what we would’ve paid for it at the SPCA. However, her spay will still have to be performed in the above timeframe for the reimbursement and we’ll need a copy of the procedure invoice and an updated photo of her (preferably in a onsie or cone after the surgery.) We use the photo on our fb page along with other animals that were spay/neutered that same week.
If ARISAIG sounds like she’d suit your home and lifestyle then please submit an adoption application to meet her. It should be noted that puppies personalities can change daily/weekly as their little brains develop. We try to keep our puppy postings as up-to-date as possible but due to their development, it’s not always possible to note 100% accurate behavioural information.
* She’ll receive her second vaccine and be ready for adoption early September.
