Orion will be at one of our adoption events this weekend! Visit our event page (https://www.lostdogrescue.org/events/) to see which one-event listings are usually updated on Fridays with attending dogs.
Orion needs one more vaccination before he is adoption-ready. We expect that to happen 8-17, so he will be ready to meet you at one of our adoption events over the weekend.
Orion is a sweet and snuggly 2.5-month-old husky mix. He acclimated easily to his foster home with two resident dogs (ages 7 and 4) and two children (ages 10 and 12) - he really loves being with the pack! Orion is a curious and playful pup who especially loves exploring the backyard. He's fallen easily into the routines and rhythms of his foster home, including crate training. Orion will be a happy and lovable addition to his forever home!
ABOUT: HUSKY DOG BREED
The husky breed is renowned for its striking appearance, characterized by piercing eyes and a thick double coat. These medium sized, energetic dogs are known for their friendly and outgoing personalities, making them wonderful companions for active families. Originally bred for sledding and endurance in cold climates, huskies are intelligent and independent, often displaying a strong prey drive. Proper training and regular exercise are crucial to keep these playful and social animals happy and well adjusted.
The mixed breed dogs, often referred to as mutts, are a diverse and unique group with a blend of different characteristics from various purebred dog breeds. These dogs come from a mixture of lineages, resulting in a wide range of sizes, coat types, and temperaments. While each mixed breed dog is distinct in its own right, they are known for their resilience, adaptability, and often have fewer health issues compared to purebred dogs due to their genetic diversity. Mixed breed dogs make wonderful companions for families looking for a loyal and one-of-a-kind pet.
