Meet Sakari!

Sakari is a 3-year-old Husky/Shar-Pei mix who arrived at the shelter as a stray, and she’s ready to find a family who will give her the love and stability she deserves.

Sakari is a very vocal girl with plenty to say! She also has a wonderfully goofy and somewhat awkward play style. Her play noises and enthusiastic way of interacting can sometimes sound more serious than they really are, so don’t let the noise fool you — she has been tested with other dogs and did well. She enjoys canine company and would likely do best with a dog who understands her unique way of playing.

Sakari also seemed to do well when introduced to cats, although any feline friendship should start with a proper, slow introduction and continued supervision.

The Shar Pei is a distinctive breed known for their deep wrinkles and blue black tongue. Originally from China, these medium sized dogs are loyal, independent, and protective of their families. Shar Peis have a unique appearance with a hippopotamus like face and a broad, padded muzzle. Their coat can be either horse coat or brush coat, coming in a variety of colors. While they can be aloof with strangers, Shar Peis are devoted companions with a calm demeanor, making them wonderful family pets.
