Time for an introduction to this handsome boy, coming to us all the way from Manitoba. After spending time in a foster home, Farley is looking forward to what lies ahead!
To answer the inevitable question "what breed?" we really don't know for sure but his appearance indicates at least some Husky in his background. Whatever else his DNA consists of, he is young, sweet and deserving of a forever home. Given his current size, we are confident that Farley will be a large adult once fully grown.
He is thought to be around 12 weeks old and has had his first wellness check with the vet, 1st & 2nd DAPP vaccines, fecal testing, deworming, parasite prevention (Nexgard Spectra) and is microchipped.
Farley has spent time in 2 separate foster homes, one in Manitoba and one in Ontario. He is a mellow guy - unless with siblings and then he becomes a rowdy player - and prefers to chill out and observe his surroundings. He can be independent and is happy to follow at his own pace. Although his energy level is not typical of Huskies, his independence and occasional stubborn streak are more in line with the breed. He can be dramatic and feisty when told he needs to follow the rules.
Farley's most recent foster home has a large male doodle and they enjoy time together. He would probably enjoy a friendly, well-balanced fur sibling. Although he has not been cat-tested recently, he did live with a cat in his first foster home and is familiar with them. He is people friendly and likes to snuggle but on his own terms. He is seeking a dog experienced family in an adult home (teens in the home would be fine).
As with most puppies he would benefit from continued socialization with other friendly dogs...but no dog parks please! This goes for all of our available dogs - please google reasons why your dog should not attend a dog park. However we do think puppy lessons (individual & group classes) are a great way to train, bond with and help set up your new family member for success.
Puppies this age require someone home more often than not - they require crate training, potty training & socialization and should have someone available to help them with this every few hours. Being left alone for a full work day would not be suitable for any of the pups in our care.
