Roscoe Has Never Given Up on People...Even Though They Gave Up on Him.
Its hard to imagine what Roscoe has been through. At only about a year old, this sweet boy spent who knows how long wandering the neighborhoods of Amite, searching for food, safety, and maybe even someone to care.
Today, Roscoe is safe, but his heart is still learning to trust.
This handsome boy weighs just under 30 pounds and is as gentle as they come. He absolutely loves other dogs and enjoys playing with every furry friend he meets. In his foster home, hes been the perfect gentleman—he hasnt had a single accident in the house, sleeps quietly in his crate every night, and even chooses it as his safe place to nap during the hottest part of the day.
But when unfamiliar people visit, Roscoe quietly retreats to the comfort of his crate. He isnt being stubborn or unfriendly—hes simply protecting a heart that has been let down before.
Roscoe doesnt need someone to fix him. He needs someone willing to sit beside him, let him come at his own pace, and show him that love doesnt come with fear. He needs a family who understands that the most beautiful relationships are sometimes the ones that take a little longer to bloom.
On July 16, Roscoe will be neutered, microchipped, and brought up to date on all of his vaccinations. Then hell be ready for the one thing hes never truly had—a forever family.
Some dogs ask for attention the moment you meet them. Roscoe quietly asks for something even bigger... a chance.
Could you be the person who teaches him that hell never have to wander, wonder, or be afraid again?
If you feel Roscoe is meant to be part of your family, please complete the online adoption application at danteshope.com. Once approved, well be happy to arrange a meet-and-greet.
Sometimes the dogs who need the most patience end up loving the deepest. We believe Roscoe is one of those dogs.
